THE WEYBORNE
Founded in the 1600’s, The Weyborne is a unique and exclusive South Downs estate. With an ancient terroir steeped in rich history and wonderful stories, the vineyard has inspired many, including the poet Tennyson, a neighbour and regular visitor who cherished the estates enchanting views. It's position, at the highest point of the Sussex Downs, and source of the River Wey, is a best kept secret.

The Ballad of Oriana’ was discovered within a 1905 copy of Tennyson’s poems in the estate house library, illustrated by Eleanor Brickdale. It is a masterpiece of romantic poetry, exploring the themes of Love, loyalty and fate.
Oriana also means ‘Golden Dawn’ a link to the glorious colour of the wine and the time Weyborne harvest their grapes. The direction of the arrow is a nod to the cooling westerly breeze and the iconic ‘Temple of the Winds’ Landmark.
