Shanky the maverick Irish Jockey, was always one to buck the trend, and when thrown from his horse, he returned to the race track with an ostrich and cart and, of course, a whip.

Off the track he liked Irish Whiskey, but he did not like the burn. He also liked the taste of Cream, but he did not like the texture…and he also loved Stout – which is of course, black! So he had a lightbulb moment and Shanky’s Whip Black Irish Whiskey Liqueur was born. 

Our label design has been inspired by vintage Irish matchbox artwork and features the fantastical Irish jockey, Shanky, a wild boy of racing.
