KANOSUKE SINGLE MALT JAPANESE WHISKY
Kanosuke Distillery is a producer of award-winning, ultra-premium single malt whiskies based in Kagoshima, Japan. It was established in 2017 by Komasa Jyozo, a family company who have been producing shochu for 138-years.
Yoshitsugu Komasa, the fourth president, developed the whisky project and Kanosuke is named after his grandfather Kanosuke Komasa.
Distilled, matured, and bottled in Kyushu, on the most southerly of Japan’s four main islands, the distillery is situated on Japan’s longest sand beach and perfectly positioned within the tropical Kagoshima Prefecture.
The whisky benefits from the warm tropical climate to develop great character in a short space of time, and the range of flavours from distillation and maturation enable Kanosuke to create rich, drinkable whiskies true to its philosophy of “Mellow Land, Mellow Whisky.”
Our design was inspired whilst sampling a dram, listening to a selection of vinyl in the distillery tasting room called "The Mellow Bar", and watching the sun set into the East China Sea.
